Still Presence

Take heart, child, take heart,

for the divine cannot closer be.

Your mortal soul is the most detached,

yet still God dwells with thee

Be still, sweet one, be still,

and listen to the trees.

Can you feel the grace divine,

while caressed by gentle breeze?

Ease, my dear, just ease,

no need to rush or fear appease.

For in harkening the still, small voice

know the peace that Spirit frees.

So be, in this moment, just be,

and watch the glistening leaves.

The sun is dappling, the Lord is here,

and wants to be with you this eve.
